As a consequence of a rather mild winter there are some early signs impending spring. One can only be a little concerned for the chances of survival of the few Egyptian Goslings recently hatched in the Woodland Gardens as we could still have some harsh weather. Daffodils are out already and several trees are in blossom. There have been spectacular sunrises and a few really frosty mornings, not forgetting Storm Ciara that swept the country resulting in the closure of all eight of the Royal Parks.
The flying swan took me completely by surprise as it took off very suddenly lightly skimming the top of my head – I suppose one could call it a hair-raising experience!
