Praying in Teddington

It has been a tough few months. Research by Teddington based charity Tearfund showed that in May 2020 a third of young adults had watched or listen to an online service or a religious broadcast. When asked about their prayers they were praying for friends, those who were sick and frontline services as well as for themselves.

To help people who are drawn to prayer for the first time or want to try praying again or praying differently there is a new website – Praying in Teddington. It comes out of the experience of Revd Karen Wellman who is vicar of St Mark’s Church Teddington who says ‘those who practice prayer often say – pray as you can and not as you can’t – but if you haven’t prayed before that isn’t very helpful!’ None of us have lived through a global pandemic before so the site is designed to

have ideas and suggestions about how someone might pray as we are all different and will approach prayer differently.

It is work in progress so drop by and see us online at
