Sculpture Showcase returns to Landmark

The  Surrey Sculpture Society will be following on from the success of previous arts events within the cathedral-like setting of the Landmark Arts Centre at Teddington, with their 2022 Sculpture Showcase running from 26th February – 6th March 2022. The renowned sculptor Kate Viner, commissioned for various public arts projects during her career, will be the Signature Artist at the event and will be sharing insights into her life as a sculptor.

“We are delighted to be back exhibiting at this stunning Teddington venue in 2022 having had last year’s plans thwarted by lockdown,” commented Caroline Wheaton, the SSS Exhibition Manager for the event. “As usual our Sculpture Showcase will feature not only some fantastic sculpture and 2D work from our talented artists, but also live sculpture demonstrations throughout the event. As tradition dictates, we also hope to inspire the next generation of artists by welcoming local school children to the event. We look forward to seeing as many visitors as possible for this, our first exhibition of the year.”

As a successful group of emerging and professional sculptors, their 3D work will be combined with many other 2D works of art, including sketches and paintings, with all works on display for sale.

Landmark’s Visual Arts Curator Abigail Thomas commented:

“The Landmark is thrilled to once again welcome and host the Surrey Sculpture Society in exhibiting with us and kicking off 2022’s visual arts programme. Our local community will be delighted to see another high quality show from the members of the society. As always, our Grade II listed building is a great backdrop to any sculpture, large or small, and we thoroughly look forward to seeing what will be exhibited.”

The winner of and runners up for the Surrey Sculpture Society Prize for New and Emerging Artists 2021, in association with The Art Academy London, will also be featured at the exhibition. Cass Art Kingston will be sponsoring art materials for school groups visiting the event.

The Landmark Arts Centre is located at the end of Teddington High Street in Ferry Road, Teddington TW11 9NN.
