This month’s cover features a design by local Hampton Hill based artist Gill Smith.
Her geometric inspired artworks take a variety of forms – printmaking (both traditional & digital), layered cut paper collages and artist books. You can check these out at www.gillsmithprints.co.uk or on Instagram @gillsmithprints.
With a background in financial consulting, Gill began her printmaking at Richmond Adult Community College and went on to do an MA in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts.
She now exhibits regularly at local art fairs, including The Landmark Arts Centre, and will be taking part in the ‘Art Unlocked’ exhibition at Orleans House Gallery in October. And do also look out for her pieces in the annual Environment Trust ‘Secret Art Sale’ this month (but as the exhibition says – they are a secret!).
Gill will be holding a suitably socially distanced ‘Open Studio’ event from 11- 13 September, where prints of the cover design will be available, together with her range of other prints, papercuts & greetings cards, and details of future workshops she hopes to run post-Covid.
