I’m delighted to announce St Mary’s University TEDxStMarysUniversity has organized an afternoon and evening of enlightening 18-minute talks on Friday 21st May at the Exchange in Twickenham. The event is titled Beyond the Boundaries of Discipline and all our presenters have one common goal – to communicate our academic passions beyond the cloisters of academia and into the public square.
I’ll be speaking about ‘The Beatles and Remix Culture’, while other research interests include football coaching; mathematical theories and theology; philosophical theology; satellite technology and climate change; and immersive theatre work. We’ll be discussing questions around whether the traditional university is dead; the ethics of vaccine passports; climate change; and whether psychoanalysis can teach us about online misogyny. If you have an interest in the conversation between science and theology or want to hear about the Beatles, Jay Z and Dangermouse, this is an event not be missed.
Speakers include Ankur Shiv Bhandari, Claire Mulvenna, Cynthia Harper, Elisabetta Canetta, Gemma Hobcraft, Jacob Johanssen, Jacob Philips, Kenny Tang, Mark Griffin, Philip Booth, Sarah Green, Syed Kamall and Trevor Phillips. For further information and tickets visit exhangetwickenham.co.uk.
